C.1761.  This stunning Georgian black enamel mourning ring bears a large cushion cut amethyst which reflects light brilliantly. The amethyst is beautifully foil-backed, and the has a desirable reeded setting on the back. The enamel band set in 15k gold reads, ‘SARAH CLARK OB .. 21 SEP 1761 AET ; 52’. The band, mostly the middle part, has some enamel loss. English in origin.
