Victorian Etruscan Revival Amphora Collar

Victorian Etruscan Revival Amphora Collar

A very impressive and rare Victorian Etruscan revival collar. The necklace contains 15 beautiful amphorae around the neckline. An amphora is a motif from the ancient Greek and Etruscan civilizations that was widely and fashionably used in the Victorian era. Two different sizes of amphorae alternate the order of placement, which makes the collar more playful and attractive, and having the amphora pendants all around the rear neck area makes the piece fancier. The flat push-in clasp has the continuous design of the chain, which gives the clasp area the minimal attention to the collar but the maximum to the amphorae. Each amphora is very securely attached to the collar, and the collar has a safety chain as well. A true standout piece. The necklace is 18k gold plated. It shows slight signs of wear, but is overall in great condition.

Total Length:  Approximately 17”
