Late 19th Century Diamond Serpent Ring

Late 19th Century Diamond Serpent Ring

C.1890. A late Victorian diamond serpent ring. The ring is beautifully constructed with a triple coil and a diamond on the snake's head. The ring is substantial, and feels nice on hand. (11.62g)  The deliberately engraved pattern makes the ring stand out. The ring is 18k yellow gold, and the diamond is approximately 0.40 carat with H-I color and I1 clarity.  Inside of the ring, there are '750' stamp (18k gold), 'BC' and an inscription that reads 0.40. (diamond size), which were most likely added in later time, most likely for an auction purpose. The stone has an open back setting. Overall this gorgeous ring is in great condition.
