Victorian Banded Agate Diamond Horseshoe Brooch

Victorian Banded Agate Diamond Horseshoe Brooch

C.1860-1880. A striking and large Victorian banded agate and diamond horseshoe brooch. The agates are at its best with the consistent banding pattern and rich contrast. Tiny rose cut diamonds are set in between the cabochons in two rows. The brooch is 15k yellow gold, and English in origin. The back would have had a glass locket compartment, and now it remains empty. The brooch has the original c-clasp, and it is secure. It can easily be converted to a pendant if desired. Please contact us if that's how you'd like to wear this. There is one microscopic hairline to one agate, which is hardly noticeable. Overall this horseshoe is in very good condition.
