Victorian Enamel and Diamond Putto Locket

Victorian Enamel and Diamond Putto Locket

C.1885-1895. A rare and delightful Victorian enamel 'putto' locket. The scene in this locket depicts a putto (cherub) conducting singing birds with a music note. It is a beautiful token of 'love and harmony'. The locket is 18k yellow gold. And there are two photo compartments inside. At left and right in the center, two old cut diamonds are set next to fine quality green guilloché enamel. '750' stamp on the bail is for 18k gold. The back of the locket has a few minor surface wear. Overall the locket is in great condition without missing any enamel details. Most likely it is Swiss in origin.
