C.1880. A stunning pair of Victorian Etruscan revival garnet tassel earrings. All of the tassels are intact and none are missing. The bold size and the design of these earrings offer a striking appearance. The stone of one earring is a garnet, while the other is made of garnet paste. The garnet paste looks very slightly lighter in tone when held under a light, although they look fairly identical to the naked eye. The earrings are made of gilt metal, and offer a soft gold tone with a lovely patina. The back of the earrings show some soldering marks for the newly added 15k gold ear wires. Overall the earrings are in good condition.
