Victorian Piqué Heart Padlock Bracelet

C.1880. A large and plump heart padlock Piqué bracelet. Piqué is known to describe a technique in which gold or silver are inlaid onto tortoise shell to create patterns. The heart padlock is inlaid with gold stars. It can be detached from the bracelet and worn as a pendant with a necklace chain. The padlock also has a round locket compartment on the back, which remains empty. The padlock opens and shuts properly. The bracelet is very wearable. Overall in very good condition with consistent wear with age and use.
