A Victorian gold signet ring with a secret key. The simple oval shaped signet ring has a coat of arms with the motto, 'BY THE NAME OF LATHROP'; the surname 'Lathrop' originates from Yorkshire in northern England. Here 'LATHROP' may also mean a habitational name from Layerthorpe in York. The center of the crest features a knight with a shield and a flying eagle. The concealed key fits into the frame on the back of the ring. The ring is 15k rosy yellow gold, and substantial in weight. Overall in great condition.
