Victorian Multicolor Tassie Intaglio Bracelet

Victorian Multicolor Tassie Intaglio Bracelet

C.1890. An impressive and rare Victorian 'Tassie' bracelet. Tassie is a glass version of a cameo or intaglios. It was named after James Tassie (1735-1799) who was a Scottish engraver. He created many miniature profiles and medals for the nobles in Britain.
The bracelet consists of eight oval shaped Tassie intaglios of neoclassical figures. Each intaglio varies in size, color and shape. (largest in center)  The rich color palette of deep purple, wine red, sky blue and vivid green offers the piece a striking presence. The hidden push-in clasp makes the bracelet seamless when closed and worn. The bracelet is set in sterling silver, and the infinity safety lock was added for extra security. Overall in great condition without any damages to the Tassies.

Length of Bracelet: Approximately 7 “ (this omits the overlapped area for clasp tongue)
Intaglio: Approximately 1.30" NS (biggest) / 7/8" NS (smallest)
