Austro-Hungarian Pendant with Pearls and Enamel

Austro-Hungarian Pendant with Pearls and Enamel

C.1880-1890. This Austro-Hungarian Saint George pendant is inspired by Renaissance revival, and depicts three-dimensional St. George on a horse against a dragon. A green dragon is upside down fighting St. George, and the white-enameled horse is carrying St. George on his back. Tiny white seed pearl beads decorate the part of the link chain holding the pendant to the loop at the top. One bead on the top seems to be a replacement, but is hard to notice due to its very small scale. Some surface wear on enamel and natural patina in silver. Overall it is in good antique condition.
