C.1860. A fabulous quality antique micromosaic bulla locket. The center reads 'ROMA'. Two 3-dimensional small gold amphora drops are hanging on the left and right side of the piece. The butterflies symbolize 'resurrection' or 'rebirth'. This locket is crafted in rich 18k gold, and a partially rubbed maker's mark is seen inside at the top left. The Vatican workshop mark of two crossed keys & a mitre was used until 1870.
