C.1870. A stunning amethyst drop necklace. The necklace consists of nine amethyst drops all around through the back featuring the largest one at its center. Each drop is designed with two stones in a torpedo shape, and the stones are framed in beautifully made pierced gold work. The finely made flexible flat mesh chain sits around the neck beautifully with the chunky amethyst drops. The necklace is crafted in 18k gold, and has been preserved pristinely without any damage. A French import mark is seen on the tongue of the clasp. The push-in hidden clasp makes the necklace seamless when closed, and doesn't interfere with the design. The clasp is secure and in good working order. Overall the necklace is in great condition with very light wear.
