C.1820. Large Rock Crystal Swivel Fob Pendant

C.1820. Large Rock Crystal Swivel Fob Pendant

C.1820-1830. A remarkable rock crystal and turquoise swivel fob pendant. The pendant is very large and double-sided. The multicolor gold embellishes the finely executed motifs of sea shells and scrolled leaves. Four tiny yet saturated turquoise cabochons add the accent to the design on both sides. The beautifully faceted large rock crystal creates luminous light reflection, and it swivels properly. (it stays still when 'locked'.)  The gold tests slightly over 15k, and you can see the very early and rare example of using platinum in two leaves on each end. (tested)
A piece like this would have been an accessory of a wealthy individual for a watch chain. With its significant size, this fob pendant looks gorgeous with a long chain or a medium one. Overall the pendant is in great condition.
