A pair of ancient glass 'face' bead earrings. The orb features three faces around with the striped background. The main colors of the orbs are black and white, and because of the organic process, and each was hand-made, there are hints of dark and light brown and slight blue as well. The faces show deep red lips. The earrings have a later setting with an embossed gold flower at the top. The starburst-shaped wraparound top and the bottom complete the earrings beautifully. The gold content is 18k including the ear wires. The beads are most likely Phoenician or Carthaginian that are dated to mid-2nd century BCE. Overall the pair is in good condition, and they are comfortable when worn.
Total Drop (N-S): Approximately 29mm (1.15") without the ear wires / measured from the diamond panel to the bottom.
