C.1880. A set of large AEI sterling silver locket with a ribbed links chain.
No hallmarks are seen, but both have been fully tested as sterling silver. AEI means Amity, Eternity and Infinity which is one of the classic symbols of the Victorian era. The locket has an engraved pattern around the oval edge, and the center is raised with the AEI pattern, which gives the locket a more attractive three-dimensional look. This large locket has two photo compartments inside, and opens and shuts properly. The late Victorian collar chain consists of ribbed links. The length is approximately 18.5" in total including the large bolt clasp. Width of each link is approximately 5mm.
Locket: Approximately 2.5” x 1.5” (including the bale)
There are a few tiny minor dents on the back of the locket.
Overall In Great Condition.
