A very handsome double-sided 'Horse and Knight' medallion pendant made by Mappin & Webb. This pendant is large and substantial in weight with 49.46 grams. And it is fully English hallmarked- Birmingham and 'k' for the year of 1909. One side depicts a running horse, and the letters on the bottom read 'HACKNEY HORSE SOCIETY'. And the other side shows a beautifully portrayed horse and a knight. The Hackney Horse Society was established in 1883 by a group of individuals who were keen to bring up the breeding of Hackneys. This commemorative piece is crafted in sterling silver, and it still contains the large original loop. With its bold look, the pendant makes a great pair with a chunky silver or gold chain, and also makes an amazing key ring fob. Overall the pendant is in great condition with the natural patina.
