Early 19th Century Enamel Fede Motif Pendant

Early 19th Century Enamel Fede Motif Pendant

An early 19th century 'Fede' (clasped hands) motif enamel pendant. We are smitten with everything about this piece- the clasped hands through clouds, beautiful blue colors, the sentiment, and easy to wear medium sized scale. Originally it was a bracelet, and we converted it into a pendant by adding two loops using its original clasp parts, so the pendant remains untouched and genuine. The name 'Fede' originates from the Italian words 'Mani in Fede', hands clasped in faith. 'Fede' symbolizes love and friendship. This piece is crafted in 18k gold, and the bracelet clasp tongue has French owl hallmarks. Overall condition is great without any damage to the enamel.

Size: Approximately 34mm x 23mm
