Early 19th Century Fede Cameo Ring

Early 19th Century Fede Cameo Ring

An early 19th century fede cameo ring. The name 'Fede' originates from the Italian words 'Mani in Fede', hands clasped in faith. 'Fede' symbolizes love & friendship, and also often used for the meaning of betrothal. This fede ring shows beautifully carved clasped hands. The shank is 18k gold, and bears a French owl hallmark. This French hallmark indicates that the ring was brought to France, and was examined by French assay office around/since 1893. The French owl hallmark represents a gold piece that is imported from a country whose standards do not follow the French one. The ring is currently US size 10.25 and resizable. Overall the ring is in great condition.
