C.1870-1880. A beautiful quality Victorian extra large locket. The scale of this locket is extra-oversized (huge!), and is the largest one we've had. It is 18k gold, and engraved on both sides. The engravings are magnificently done to create fine foliate scrolls. One side has a 'camouflaged' engraving of an initial 'K' (or 'R'?) at the center. There is a photo compartment inside with the original glass cover. The locket opens and closes properly. The locket offers a striking presence. It is English in origin, and overall in great condition.
