A stunning late 19th century French 18k gold locket. Its front panel is sumptuously adorned with black enamel, rose-cut diamonds, and luminous pearls, while the reverse side is plain gold. The original matching bail remains intact. Within, two photo compartments, complete with the glass tops, offer the preservation of cherished memories. Endearing engravings on each side—'Grandpapa to Olga' and 'Grandmama to Olga'—tenderly reveal its history as a precious gift from doting grandparents to their granddaughter, Olga. A discernible French eagle's head hallmark is seen at the bail loop, attesting to its authenticity. The locket opens and closes with a secure and satisfying click, and overall, it presents in very good antique condition.
