C.1790. A lovely pair of Georgian blue and black dot paste earrings. The earrings have an octagonal-shaped design, and the vivid royal blue paste center is adorned with a flower motif that is done with white and gold enamel. The pair were most likely once buttons, and later made into earrings with 14k gold ear wires. The beautifully done foiled-back setting provides luminous light reflection, and the deep contrast between the blue and the clear paste stones work magnificently. The earrings are set in sterling silver with closed back. Some signs of wear shown on the surface and minor dents on the back of one earring. Overall in good and wearable condition.
Total Drop: Approximately 20mm (without the front wires)
