A rare Georgian clasped hands ring. C.1820-1830. The 18k yellow gold band is beautifully deep-chased, and the clasped hands show well-crafted details. The hands seem that they were added slightly later. Fede rings with clasped hands have a long history dating back to the Romans. The clasped hands symbolize friendship, faith, trust and often were used for betrothal purpose with a meaning of the union of two people. Overall in very good condition.
