C.1820. Georgian Gold Chalcedony Pendant

C.1820. Georgian Gold Chalcedony Pendant

C.1820. An exquisite example of Georgian chalcedony pendant. This large pendant is adorned with the fine gold work that depicts flowers and leaves. The center square gold frame has four natural pearls at each corner and a gem-set 'forget-me-not' flower in pink tourmaline and emerald. The beautiful and rare combination of pastel pink and rich green makes the pendant more special. The gold-beaded bail is attached from a delicately detailed stud. What amazes us is also the reverse of the pendant. There is a locket with a sentimental hair memento. And the intricate gold wire works continues around the locket frame. The chalcedony panels are white and semi-translucent, and set with 15k yellow gold including the bail. The pendant has been beautifully preserved. It is English in origin, and overall in excellent condition.
