C.1835.  A wonderful gold and black enamel mourning brooch with C-clasp. The flower-chased center locket has braided brown hair, and the black enamel around it reads ‘IN MEMORY OF’. On the back of the brooch, it shows this engraving: “Eliz Bains ob Sep.13th 1835. ae 66. John Bains ob Oct. 15th 1835 ae 74”.

The brooch measures approximately 30mm x 25mm.

There is general age-related wear, and some lead remnants are visible on the edge of the back. Overall in good condition.
