A mid Victorian piqué ‘star’ hair comb. Piqué is known to describe a technique in which gold or silver are inlaid onto tortoise shell to create patterns. This hair comb can be worn from upwards or down. The arched piece with stars is hinged to the comb. With its large scale, the piece offers a striking look. Overall this piece is in good condition with normal surface wear.
