C.1870. A striking pair of Victorian era piqué earrings. These earrings are stylized with an urn shaped drop with a top orb. The particularly large scale gives a bold presence. Piqué is known to describe a technique in which gold and silver are inlaid onto tortoiseshell to create patterns. The crisp details of inlaid silver and gold floral design in these earrings create a beautiful contrast on the dark tortoiseshell. These are lightweight (4.45 grams & 4.60 grams), which makes them easy to wear. Overall condition is great. Beautifully preserved.
Total Drop : Approximately 2.67" or 68mm
