C.1820. A darling late Georgian Swiss Enamel cherub brooch/pendant. It is adorned with the foiled-back emerald & pink tourmaline. The center features a hand-painted cherub with the winged collars, and he has a perfectly mischievous yet sweet face. His curly blond hair and rosy cheeks add the charm. The Swiss enamel is beautifully decorated in black & white. And the pretty pastel colored gemstones make a good contrast with the enamel work. The reverse side most likely once had a glass cover for a locket compartment, and now it remains empty. This piece is set in 18k yellow gold. Overall it is in great condition.
