C.1880. A beautifully crafted Victorian horse seal fob pendant. This type of fob would have been hanging from a pocket watch chain. And also to be used as a wax seal for letters. The details of the three-dimensional horse figure is finely depicted, and the horse has an articulated tail, which makes it different from the other horse fobs that are more commonly seen. The fob has a bloodstone base that is carved with a jumping lion and a buckle motif around it. The Latin phrase on the top reads 'Nil Admirari', which translates into 'Let nothing astonish you'. The body of the horse is 18k yellow gold, and this cool fob is ready to be paired with your chain. Overall this piece is in excellent condition with the natural patina in gold.
