A striking Victorian banded agate and black enamel mourning ring from 1849. The oval shaped banded agate center stone shows a rich contrast of black and white in pattern. The ring is beautifully inscribed inside 'Thomas Wheatley 11th Oct. 1849.' It contains a hidden locket at the rear center, and woven hair still remains intact in it. The combination of black and rich gold makes the ring look timeless and chic to today's fashion. The ring is 18k yellow gold, and overall in very good condition.
