Victorian Mouse and Cheese Ring

Victorian Mouse and Cheese Ring

C.1880. This rare mouse ring is a good example of how the Victorians were particularly whimsical in jewelry making. A mouse is going for a piece of cheese, and a baby milk tooth is used as 'cheese'. The mouse is silver, and the shank is 15k yellow gold. The details of the mouse are well-crafted, and there are no missing body parts. (He has a perfect tail!)  The ring is English in origin, and overall it is in great condition.
