C.1870. Truly rare and gorgeous mid-Victorian 'nesting birds' earrings. These medium-length drop earrings feature two birds watching over three eggs on each nest. The tender gesture of the birds is adorably expressed, as if they just flew into the nest to guard their precious. The earrings are crafted in 14k gold with the freshwater pearls. We love every detail of these earrings. The pair is a good example that shows fine and whimsical Victorian craftsmanship. The total drop of the earring is approximately 1.38" (35mm) N-S without the front wire. They are comfortable when worn. Overall the earrings are in great condition with natural patina.
