A lovely Victorian Vauxhall Glass Hair Comb. Vauxhall glass is a type of mirrored glass produced originally at Vauxhall (near London) in the eighteenth century. The popularity of Vauxhall glass jewelry continued throughout the Victorian era. Vauxhall glasses were almost never used in gold or silver mountings, but instead set into brass. This piece is also set in brass, and it measures approximately 27mm (1.06") in diameter. The comb is faux tortoise shell, and it is overall in good condition with minor wear.
