C.1880. A stunning Victorian 18k gold collar necklace. Beautifully designed wide links with the double shell motif still feel timeless and modern after 140 years. The necklace lays beautifully around the neck, and it feels comfortable when it is worn. It has a large spring bolt ring clasp that is in great working condition, and the bolt ring is 15k gold. This type of collar necklace has two ways to wear- one to have the clasp at front center to hang a locket or pendant, or to wear as a simple and gorgeous necklace having the clasp back. This piece is crafted in 18k yellow gold, and it measures approximately 17.5 inches. The weight is 36.15 grams. Overall the necklace is in excellent condition with the natural patina in gold.
